LED Light Stuff is considerate of the indoor gardener when engineering our indoor grow lights. Each one uses various high quality LEDs that provide the best spectrum of plant light. Two shades of LEDs, or “light emitting diodes”, are utilized. The violet-blue light in the 400 – 520 nm range heightens chlorophyll absorption, photosynthesis and growth. Red LEDs in the 610 – 720 nm range encourages flowering and budding.
Daily usage is dependent on the type of plantings you possess. Foliage plants require approximately 16 hours of light every day, while flowering plants need considerably less, in the 12-14 hours range. For both types, the best LED grow lights for plants possess high energy efficiency compared to traditional indoor garden lights that use fluorescent or incandescent grow bulbs. They also produce far less heat in comparison to the types of lighting mentioned above.
With any high intensity indoor horticultural light, we recommend using eye-wear to protect against UV rays and bright light. If you are interested in flaunting your plantings, it is suggested that you invest in a bright halogen light, since higher end grow lamps will give your plants an incredible appearance when the LEDs are turned on.
